Recycling Efforts
Foundries are among the leading industries in recycling efforts. Metallic by-products generated from automotive, railroad, and other industries are used in our operations. The molding operation recycles over 95% of the sand used in making greensand molds. 100% of the metal generated in the manufacturing process is remelted in casting production.
At each of our facilities, Metal Technologies, Inc. is striving  to reduce the quantity of industrial by-products sent to traditional landfills. MTI strives to reuse or recycle foundry residuals into asphalt and other road building materials.
Reduction in Organic Emissions in Sand System
Metal Technologies, Inc. is an industry leader in the reduction of organic additives in their green sand binder and core making systems. Reduced additives result in a cleaner work environment and a reduction in odors generated from the operation. Metal Technologies, Inc. continuously works to improve on sand system formulations to increase casting quality while minimizing the impact on the environment.
