OUR FOUNDING

Metal Technologies is founded. MTI purchases Milwaukee Gray Iron from Briggs & Stratton.

1998

1998

GRAY IRON

Milwaukee Gray Iron completes a $6 million capital improvement program on its materials and casting handling system, increasing output by 33%.

1999

DOCK FOUNDRY PURCHASE

Metal Technologies purchases Dock Foundry Company in Three Rivers, Michigan. Within the year, Dock Foundry is awarded over 30 new programs worth more than $21 million per year.

BRIGGS & STRATTON

Metal Technologies buys the remainder of Briggs & Stratton’s Castings Division, which includes two ductile iron Disamatic facilities: Milwaukee Ductile Iron and Ravenna Casting Center.

GROUND BREAKING

Metal Technologies breaks ground on a new Corporate Center in Auburn, Indiana. The new headquarters centralizes the company’s key business functions.

Metal Technologies moves into the new corporate headquarters building located in Auburn, Indiana.

AUBURN CASTING

Metal Technologies purchases the Auburn Casting Center in Auburn, Indiana.

EXPANDED CAPABILITIES

Metal Technologies expands capabilities at the Auburn Casting Center to be able to pour both gray and ductile iron.

CAPITAL INVESTMENT

Metal Technologies makes major capital investments at the Auburn Casting Center, including a sand plant, two new molding lines, a new blast furnace and a new warehouse.

30,000-SQUARE-FOOT ADDITION

MTI continues its capital investment program at the Auburn Casting Center. A 30,000-square-foot. core room is added to the facility. This investment now enables the facility to produce its own cores.

KEY 3 CASTING

Metal Technologies purchases Key 3 Casting, LLC. This acquisition further expands MTI’s capabilities by adding two aluminum die casting facilities and an additional ductile iron foundry.

PRECISION GAGE

Metal Technologies purchases Precision Gage in Hillsdale, Michigan. This acquisition enhances the company’s ability to provide value-added services such as CNC machining.

SAN LUIS POTOSI, MX

In order to better serve our customer base throughout North America, MTI begins construction of a new iron foundry in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

SLP, MX FOUNDRY PHASE 1

In phase one of investment in MTI’s SLP Foundry, Metal Technologies adds a new core room, x-ray capabilities, and automated trim cell.

Metal Technologies takes on Phase 2 of the SLP Foundry project including a major investment in an additional molding line with a new Disa D3.

MTI Acquires GP Innovative Machining S de RL de CV to expand capabilities in México with machining strategically located for least cost sourcing.

MTI expands capabilities with two additional Laempe Core Machines, 54,000 sq ft building addition, and one complete new molding line with a Disa D5-Z.
